About the Northern Virginia Regional Science and Engineering Fair (NVSE)
NVSE is organized by Pinnacle Academy and the College of Science at George Mason University and is open to students from the greater Northern Virginia Area. While the fair has been running since 2014, this will be the first virtual year of the fair.
The competition is open to public, private, and homeschooled students from grades 1-8 in the areas of Life and Earth Sciences and Physical Sciences and Engineering.

What to Expect During the Fair
We have planned a busy day with opportunities to hear from professional scientists and engineers through our STEM exhibits and panels!
Life and Earth Sciences - Division 1 (Grades 1-3)
Life and Earth Sciences - Division 2 (Grades 4-5)
Life and Earth Sciences - Division 3 (Grades 6-8)
Physical Sciences and Engineering - Division 1 (Grades 1-3)
Physical Sciences and Engineering - Division 2 (Grades 4-5)
Physical Sciences and Engineering - Division 3 (Grades 6-8)
By registering as a judge you agree to:
- Attend one training session, either on 4/29 at 7pm or 5/1 at 8am.
- Participate in virtual judging on the day of May 1st from 9am - 2pm.
- Act appropriately and positively engage with students.
